As I was waiting downstairs you could hear the band from the street! The concierge was very pleasant and accommodating as we were seated quickly with a great view of the stage. Our waitress came to take our drink orders right before the band took a break. 20 minutes later we still had not received our drinks or water. We stopped another waiter and he checked on the situation, even the manager came by to check on us. Our waitress finally returned with our drinks and apologized and took our food order. The food came out within 5 minutes! We ordered the oxtail with coconut grits. Now I’m not big on grits, especially sweet grits, but these were quite tasty! The oxtail was absolutely delicious and yes I did pick that bone up and suck on it! 💅🏾 Once the band came back they announced it was open mic and we stayed for a few performers that were marvelous! Overall, I gave it 5 stars because the service recovery was magnificent! 10/10 would recommend!
Food was good except my oxtail had a bit too much sugar. The Johnny cake which looked like a pancake was so delicious! The catfish nuggets were lightly breaded which is what I like. Servers were attentive and the live music was great! Not much more I can ask for except ... I hope they invite The Woo Factor Band to perform one night. They are🔥. Price point: Two people. We had three appetizers, two entrees, one non-alcoholic beer, two mocktails and dessert. The bill came to $260 before tip.
The place is gorgeous, beautiful establishment. My issue was the service. I ordered my drink and then we ordered appetizers after the fact, our drinks came after we were pretty much done with the appetizers. Our waitress and the hostess staff was very nice. Catfish nuggets were delicious!
This place is soooo nice! I loved the decor and the food was different and delicious. The servers were attentive and friendly and made great suggestions. We had the flap Jack's( can't remember what the name was on the menu), did not think I would enjoy them as much as I did! Also had the deviled eggs and crab dip for starters. I had the cob salad with chicken and it was sooo huge and very delicious. My bf had the jambalaya, which was good but a bit spicy for our taste. The jazz band was amazing and provided best entertainment. I wanted to stay longer!
This was my first visit to this Club and a solo one to the bar, which being a first come first served set-up worked out well, as the dining area is booked well in advance. So for those causal walk-ins be mindful, last minute seating may only be available at the bar. My first impression was very positive, formed quite surprisingly and unexpectedly by a very hospitable and rather special intro to the place by one of the Managers, Abraham. He went out of this way to give me some details about the Club, but more importantly, made sure that I felt welcome. That to me is worth way more than anything - rare as it is in this day and age of fleeting and fast paced human interactions. But the positive customer service vibe did not end there; no sooner did I approach the bar that I was greeted with an equally gracious, courteous and charming Gina. In the middle of all the thirsty wanderers looking for their next fill, she gave me the attention that a regular patron might be accustomed to. This sealed my thoughts about the owners and the management that runs this place - they care about the customer and their experience. This in my mind is a great facet setting this place apart, as much as the music and ambiance did. The band playing last night was amazing, Angelena and the Unit kept the crowd fully engaged and are worthy of the praise that they seem to receive when playing at this venue. The atmosphere and decor is a tasteful throwback to the Clubs of the yesteryears, but with every bit of a modern and warm twist a contemporary club has to offer. The only detail that would complement the comfort of patrons is perhaps a coat check of some type, because the bar stools have no backs, and with heavy winter coats, unless you are seated at a table, your only option is to sit on your jackets. Overall, a great live music venue for a casual and fun night out, or to celebrate a special occasion. I cannot comment on the food, as I did not have any.
Service was slow for a Friday night, particularly the bar. Food was exceptional. I had Oxtail with Grits, and a side of yams. …
Harlem meets Boston! I loved the jazz ensemble on Thursday night. Loved the music. Grace by Nia takes me back to my time in NYC. I loved visiting jazz clubs there. The staff is welcoming and the food is delicious at Grace by Nia. Fresh seafood and lots of chicken at this trendy jazz club. Cocktails and wine list are extensive. We will return here soon!
We almost didn't go inside, as we thought we might not be dressed well enough, but the hosts out front welcomed us and encourage us to venture inside - and I'm so glad they did! …
